In a 2024 survey of a large state secondary school, students in 690 students in Y7-11 where asked which revision strategies they used. Below is a summary of the results. Each colour represents a year group. All responses have been converted into an average for each form group of around 30 students, so they can be compared:

Do these patterns fit with individual students from your form? Why do some people not follow these patterns?
Do you feel students start using past papers more in Y10-11? Why is this?
Y11 students in this survey are still using lots of YouTube videos – these are great as ‘explainers’ but they shouldn’t be revising exclusively like this. Which channels are most reliable?
Y11 students in this survey also use written flashcards more than online ones – is this true in your school or for you personally?
Have you tried asking AI to make flashcards for you? Which sites work best and why?
